SAN LUIS OBISPO – From Saturday, 29 April through Sunday, 30 April 2023, the Saint Anne’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 222 East Foothill Blvd., will be having a Spiritual Retreat conducted by Archpriest Joseph Stanichar, Hegumen (Abbot) of Duchonvny Dom, a Byzantine Catholic Men’s Monastery in Weston, Oregon.
The retreat’s theme will be Call to Holiness: exploring the rich tradition lived by the early Church Desert Fathers from the first to the eighth century.
In a series of talks and meditations, Hegumen Joseph will unpack the Desert Fathers’ ascetical life of prayer and reparation, and illumine how these ancient tools can lead to genuine growth in holiness today.

- The Gifts of the Holy Spirit: How the Holy Spirit teaches us Scripture, and gives a deeper understanding of the Word of God and the beauty of our Faith.
- The three Stages of the Spiritual Life: God’s universal call to holiness and how to strive for “theosis” with all our hearts and strength.
- The Interior Life of Our Lady: How to bring into our lives the FIAT of Mary, the Holy Theotokos.
- The Life of &e Holy Trinity: How to welcome the Indwelling of the Holy Trinity in our souls.
- The Richness of the Spirituality and Liturgy of the Byzantine Catholic Church.
All are welcome.
