From Fr Dwight Lewis:
I was born and grew up in the idyllic Caribbean on the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago. I am the last of three boys. My parents are gone now and so is my middle brother Timothy who died in the line of duty 4 years ago – I miss him so much. I am very close now with my older brother, Sherman who lives back in Trinidad.
I came to the US twenty-five years ago to New York City where I thoroughly enjoyed the vibrancy of life of the city. I am a professional chef; I was also a corporate accountant and now, I am living the joyous life of a Catholic priest. This is my third career and I am loving being a man committed to serving God and God’s people.
I was ordained at St James Cathedral in Seattle, Washington on Saturday June 11th, 2011 – an absolute RED LETTER DAY in my life. I have been Charismatic in my spirituality for more than 40 years now and this spirituality powerfully fuels my faith… and God has given me a wonderful gift of powerfully preaching the Word of God and I use this gift daily giving ALL honor and glory to God.
I have been blessed to give many retreats around the country and the world with one goal – to let the people of God FALL IN LOVE WITH God.
I am a little older now almost 12 years later from my ordination day and hopefully wiser but for sure much more experienced because of the various ministries I have been privileged to be involved in around the Archdiocese.
I AM ON FIRE with the HOLY SPIRIT and LOVE OF GOD. Thank you in advance for welcoming me into your lives and your parish and I hope my time with you be grace-filled and that this upcoming parish retreat be a blessing to all of you.
See you all very soon. And please PRAY for me and get ready for God to challenge you and for God to do a new thing within your hearts and your faith.
God Love You!
