WESTLAKE VILLAGE – There is a ministry that is bringing together Catholic singles aged 40 and up for fellowship, fun, and faith-filled experiences. The ministry, known as S.H.I.N.E. (Singles Having Inspirational New Experiences), offers a welcoming space for individuals who are single, widowed, divorced, or separated—and either Catholic or exploring the faith.
S.H.I.N.E. is quickly becoming a hub for those looking to build new friendships and enjoy shared activities in a supportive, values-based community.
S.H.I.N.E. holds bi-monthly social and planning meetings at casual local restaurants. These gatherings provide an opportunity for newcomers to connect with regular members in a relaxed setting and contribute ideas for future events.
S.H.I.N.E. offers a diverse range of social activities, including happy hours, group dinners, hiking outings, e-bike rides, wine tastings, game nights, and holiday potlucks and BBQs hosted in members’ homes. S.H.I.N.E. also emphasizes service, participating in charitable efforts such as Habitat for Humanity, Cancer Wellness events, the Homeboy Industries City Walk fundraiser, and Adopt-A-Family programs.
“This is an opportunity to venture out and make new friends,” say organizers. “There’s something for everyone.”
