VENTURA COUNTY — Ignatians West, a Jesuit-affiliated volunteer ministry, is inviting mature individuals to share their skills, wisdom, and life experience with poor and marginalized members of the community through volunteer service in a variety of nonprofit settings.
Volunteers are placed in partner agencies where their interests and talents are matched with the needs of children, adults, and seniors. Opportunities include service in schools, hospitals, food pantries, and similar organizations. Volunteers typically serve one to two days per week from September through June.
In addition to their service placements, participants meet monthly for group reflection and attend two retreat days each year, all rooted in the Ignatian tradition. The program is affiliated with the Jesuits and encourages a commitment to social justice, care for creation, and spiritual growth.
