SALINAS – On Friday, 5 June 2026, the parish of Sacred Heart, 22 Stone Street, will observe its monthly First Friday devotions beginning with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at 6pm. The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation will be available during the period of adoration, concluding with Mass at 7:30pm.
The First Friday Devotion is a longstanding Catholic practice dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and traditionally includes Mass, Holy Communion, and confession on the first Friday of consecutive months as an act of reparation and devotion. The practice is associated with the revelations received by Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque in seventeenth-century France, which emphasized the love and mercy symbolized by the Sacred Heart of Christ.
