Parish Celebrates Titular Patron

Mary Magdalene by Domenico Tintoretto (c. 1598)
Saint Mary Magdalen Chapel in Camarillo

CAMARILLO – On Wednesday, 22 July 2026, the parish of Saint Mary Magdalen will celebrate the Solemnity of Saint Mary Magdalen, its titular patron, at the parish chapel, 2532 Ventura Boulevard.

Saint Mary Magdalen, one of the most devoted disciples of Jesus, was the first witness to His Resurrection and was entrusted with proclaiming the Good News to the Apostles. For this reason, she has been called “Apostle to the Apostles”. In 2016, Pope Francis raised her liturgical celebration from a memorial to a feast in the General Roman Calendar, recognizing her unique role in the Gospel. In churches dedicated under her patronage, however, her feast is celebrated with the highest rank of a solemnity.

Masses will be celebrated at 6:30am and 5:15pm. The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation will also be available as regularly scheduled from 4pm until 5pm.
