SIMI VALLEY – On Saturday, 1 August 2026, the parish of Saint Peter Claver, 2380 Stow Street, will host A Mission of Mercy Opportunity: Building Character, Compassion, and Kindness through Service Dogs from 9:30am until 12pm in the West Hall.
Families are invited to meet Bonjour, a future service dog currently being raised by a parishioner through the Canine Companions program. Participants will hear a reading from a children’s book written by the parishioner about the important role service and therapy dogs play in the lives of individuals with disabilities and special needs.
The event will also include hands-on service projects benefiting service animals and their caretakers, offering children and families an opportunity to put their faith into action through acts of compassion and service.
