OJAI – The parish of Saint Thomas Aquinas, 185 St. Thomas Drive, offers Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament each week from Thursday morning until Saturday morning.
The Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the side chapel or Mother’s Room following the parish’s 8am Mass on Thursday and remains exposed throughout Thursday and Friday. Mass is also celebrated at 8am on Friday during this period of Adoration. On Saturday morning, Adoration concludes with Benediction at 7:45am, immediately before the parish’s 8am Mass.
Eucharistic Adoration is a time-honored Catholic devotion arising from the Church’s belief in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. During exposition, the Blessed Sacrament is placed in a monstrance for the prayer and adoration of the faithful, providing an opportunity to spend time in prayer before the Eucharistic presence of Christ.
