APTOS – On Sunday, 27 September 2026, the parish of Resurrection, 7600 Soquel Drive, will celebrate the grand reopening and re-dedication of its Markey Community Center.
The Most Rev. Ramón Bejarano, 6th Bishop of Monterey in California, will be the principal celebrant of the 10:15am Mass, which will be concelebrated by Fr Romeo Evangelista, pastor, Fr Ron Shirley, pastor emeritus, and Fr Peter Crivello, former pastor. A luncheon will follow at 11:30am in the newly renovated community center.
The Markey Community Center has particular significance in the history of Resurrection. The building originally served as the parish church before the present church was constructed under the leadership of Fr Crivello. Following the move into the new church in 2002, the former church became the parish hall and was named the Markey Community Center.
