SANTA BARBARA – On Saturday and Sunday, 7 and 8 November 2026, the parish of Mission Santa Barbara, 2201 Laguna Street, will offer Praying the Mass: A Deep Dive in Real Time during all weekend Masses: 4pm on Saturday, and at 7:30am, 9am, and 11am on Sunday.
Also called “Mass in Slow Motion,” the celebrations will include brief commentary on various parts of the Mass, along with prompts to help participants focus their prayer according to the liturgical action. The Masses will not last longer than usual.
On Sunday, 15 November 2026, a “Slow Motion Mass” Reflection Gathering will be held at 12:30pm in Bonaventure Hall. Fr Pedro Lopez will lead a reflection and discussion on the parish’s “slow motion” Masses celebrated on 7 and 8 November.
